Winter in Japan is known for hotpot, as you can see in my recent entries.
Last night, we had tantan nabe (Szechuan sesame hotpot)! The flavoring came from the Ebara company. My family found the flavor to be a bit on the sweeter side but we enjoyed it regardless.
We had the following in our hotpot: white cabbage (very sweet), shingiku, black mushroom, tofu, negi, nira, fatty slices of pork, cabbage… and i can’t remember the rest (sorry the names are in Japanese…). Usually we would eat most of it and reheat the hotpot and add noodles in it, but we were all too full to end our dinner that way last night. But so healthy!
