One of my childhood favorites is cod roe spaghetti. It probably sounds really unique, but it’s quite popular in Japan that convenience stores even sells already made ones that you can heat up.
It’s a simple spaghetti sauce pack that has (lots of preservatives) and cod roe and butter. You just have to boil water and cook your spaghetti, and I like to use spaghettini. The sauce itself is salty and a bit creamy, and it makes me want to keep on eating it (especially being a carb lover)! The topping of thinly sliced dried seaweed also comes with the pack, and it adds an additional ocean flavor to the dish.
I didn’t realize the spaghetti had shifted on my plate. Next to the spaghetti is avocado, basil, and tomato salad with whole grain dressing. This added veggies and good monounsaturated fat to this lunch.
